1. Service Fees
BahtGuru Insurance may charge service fees for our insurance brokerage and advisory services. These fees are separate from the premiums paid for insurance policies.
Refund of Service Fees
- Within 7 Days: If you cancel our services within 7 days of payment and we have not yet provided any substantive services, we will refund 100% of the service fees.
- After Services Rendered: Once we have provided insurance advisory services, processed applications, or performed other substantial services, service fees are non-refundable.
2. Insurance Policy Premiums
Insurance premiums are payments made to insurance providers for coverage. BahtGuru Insurance acts as an intermediary in these transactions.
Free Look Period
Many insurance policies in Thailand offer a "Free Look Period" (typically 15-30 days from policy issuance), during which you can review your policy documents and decide if the coverage meets your needs.
- If you cancel your policy during this period, you may be entitled to a full refund of premiums paid, less any administrative fees imposed by the insurance provider.
- The exact duration of the Free Look Period varies by insurance type and provider. This information is specified in your policy documents.
Policy Cancellation After Free Look Period
If you cancel your insurance policy after the Free Look Period:
- Refunds are typically calculated on a pro-rata basis (for the unused portion of coverage).
- The insurance provider may deduct administrative fees, which can range from 500-2,000 THB depending on the policy type.
- Some insurance types may apply short-rate calculations (which result in smaller refunds than pro-rata calculations) as specified in the policy terms.
3. Specific Refund Terms by Insurance Type
Health Insurance
- If no claims have been made, a pro-rata refund may be available upon cancellation.
- If claims have been paid, the insurer may deduct claim amounts from any refund or deny refunds entirely.
- Annual policies paid in installments may require payment of remaining installments even upon cancellation, as specified in policy terms.
Auto Insurance
- Compulsory Third Party (CTP) insurance refunds are strictly regulated and may not be available in all circumstances.
- Voluntary auto insurance typically offers pro-rata refunds, less administrative fees.
- If you've made claims during the policy period, refund amounts may be reduced or denied.
Property Insurance
- Standard cancellation terms usually allow for pro-rata refunds.
- Short-term rental insurance may have different refund structures as specified in the policy.
- If a property claim has been paid, refunds may be reduced or unavailable.
Travel Insurance
- Before the coverage period begins: Full refund minus administrative fees (typically 200-500 THB).
- After coverage begins: Refunds are typically not available once the travel period has started.
- For annual multi-trip policies, pro-rata refunds may be available if no claims have been made.
4. Non-Refundable Circumstances
Refunds are generally not available in the following situations:
- When the policy has expired
- When the full benefit amount has been claimed
- When the policy terms explicitly state non-refundable conditions
- When the refund request is based on fraudulent information or misrepresentation
- When a cooling-off or free look period has passed, and policy terms specify no refund availability

Processing Timeline
- Service fee refunds: Processed within 7-14 business days
- Insurance premium refunds: Typically processed within 15-30 business days, depending on the insurance provider's procedures
- Refunds will be issued to the original payment method when possible
6. Administrative Fees
Various fees may apply to refund requests:
- BahtGuru service cancellation fee: 300-500 THB (depending on service type)
- Insurance provider administrative fees: As specified in policy terms (typically 500-2,000 THB)
- Bank transfer or payment processing fees: As applicable
These fees will be deducted from the refund amount.
7. Special Circumstances
We understand that special circumstances may arise. In cases of:
- Duplicate Payments: Full refunds will be processed for verified duplicate payments.
- Service Issues: If BahtGuru has failed to provide the agreed-upon services, we will work to resolve the issue or provide an appropriate refund.
- Policy Overlap or Duplication: If you've inadvertently purchased overlapping coverage, we will assist in resolving the situation according to insurance regulations.
8. Changes to This Policy
We may update our Refund Policy from time to time. We will notify you of any changes by posting the new Refund Policy on this page and updating the "Last Updated" date. You are advised to review this Refund Policy periodically for any changes.
